I am always excited with occasions, be it a birthday, anniversary, wedding, Christmas, new year, valentines, etc.I want to make every occasion special and memorable.
11 October 2009 marks our 1st wedding anniversary. Our wedding anniversary will surely be one of the best occasions in our life and we will celebrate it yearly, either in good or bad times, for richer or for poorer, in sickness or in health, until death do us part (sounds familiar, huh?).
Our celebration of our first wedding anniversary may not be perfect, it may not be ideal but we are very thankful to God that we are happy and very much together. The first year of our marriage is a perfect blend of love and hate, happiness and sorrow, ups and downs, abundance and scarcity, understanding and miscommunication, and everything in between.
In these trying times, it is practical to celebrate in a simple way. We just decided to go to the mall, watched a movie and attended mass. No gifts, no out-of-town/country trips, no fancy dinner but we could not have done it any better. Maybe next time, when things are better, we can celebrate it some other ways. My husband knows how to make me happy, so I am looking forward to different ways to celebrate, either simple or extravagant, it does not matter.
